The Earthly Tabernacle and Its Rituals

Hebrews 9:1-10

9
Chapter 9
1 Now the first indeed had ordinances of worship, and also the holy place. 2 For a tent was prepared, the first one, in which were both the lampstand and the table and the setting forth of the breads, which is called the Holy. 3 But after the second veil, a tent called the Holy of Holies, 4 having a golden censer and the ark of the covenant covered all around with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna and Aaron's rod that budded and the tablets of the covenant, 5 But above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Concerning these things we do not now speak in detail. 6 Now these things having been prepared in this way, the priests enter the first tent continually, performing the worship services. 7 but into the second the high priest alone enters once a year, not without blood, which he offers for himself and the sins of ignorance of the people, 8 the Holy Spirit making this clear, that the way of the holy places had not yet been manifested while the first tabernacle was still standing, 9 which is a parable for the present time. According to it both gifts and sacrifices are offered that cannot perfect the worshiper according to conscience, 10 only concerning foods and drinks and various baptisms, ordinances of flesh imposed until the time of rectification.
